KALINAW MINDANAO MOVEMENT, INC. - CHILDREN, YOUTH AND CITIZEN FOR PEACE ACTION will conduct a screening on October 4-5, 2009 at Mc Arthur Park; this is in connection with OXFAM - International Youth Partnerships (OIYP). K-Mindanao will be sending youth representatives who are qualified on this prestigious competition. My office, the office of the President will discuss very important guidelines.The chosen individual will be automatically representing the organization (KMMI) at New Delhi, India on November 2010.

The following guidelines and qualifications are as follow,
To apply you must be:
Aged between 18 and 25 as at 1 October 2010
Speak fluent English or Spanish
Your application will be assessed against selection criteria.

Applications close on 31 December 2009.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING FOR OXFAM INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PARTNERSHIPS (OIYP)

1. How are participants selected?
Oxfam selects 300 young people according to selection criteria. OIYP is open to all nationalities, Indigenous and ethnic groups. It is open to young people with any level of education and who live in rural or urban areas. We aim to recruit equal numbers of women and men. We have a strong focus on the participation of Indigenous young people and those marginalised in their communities.

Selection Criteria for OIYP 2010 – 2013

Eligibility :
>» Age: 18-25 at 1 October 2010
» Speak English or Spanish
» Not previously a participant with OIYP (an Action Partner)
» Available to attend an 8 day event in November 2010, in New Delhi, India

Core Selection Criteria :

Commitment to finding new ways of creating change
» Evidence of commitment to positive, equitable and sustainable change
» Ability to explain your own understanding of the issues you are working on
» A commitment to personal reflection and developing self-awareness
» Community or organisational support

Diversity Criteria» 50/50 males and females from a diversity of communities and countries.
» We are looking for people working on a diversity of issues affecting young people

KALINAW MINDANAO MOVEMENT, INC. - CHILDREN, YOUTH AND CITIZEN FOR PEACE ACTION has official guidelines, precautions, verdict and sentence in relation to Clan meeting under Kmindanao circle of clans. The following guidelines must be followed in observance to all clan meeting and Kmindanao official activities. The following are the Precautions of clan meeting:


Ø The Founder and Co-founder and or the President must ensure the security and safety of the area before conducting a meeting.
Ø Meeting place must have lights (for security)
Ø The meeting must start on time and end on time
Ø The suggested time of meeting is within 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Ø Saturday is the preferred day of meeting and or depending to the clans Founders and officers
Ø Schedule of the meeting must be designated by the majority of the clan members
.
The Kalinaw Mindanao Movement, Inc. do not obliges any clan to conduct meetings or any activities. And since KMMI respect clans independence and decisions as partners as stated on the organization’s membership/partnership pledge and duly signed by the clan authorized representative/founders/officers, state: “We understand and agree that Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., shall recognize and respect the autonomy of our organization which pertains to setting up our special rules and regulations and our own Constitution and By-laws and set of officers, however we understand that these should not be contrary to Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., fundamental principles”.

The following are the Guidelines to avoided during meeting:

Ø All Board of Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members must avoid drinking alcoholic beverage (in any form) 5 hours before and during clan meeting and to any Kmindanao official activities.

Ø All Board of Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members must avoid taking cigarette 1 hour before and during clan meeting and to any Kmindanao official activities.

Ø All Board of Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members must avoid and should not take any drugs (in any form) at all time.
.

Suspected Board of Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members will be given a chance to defend his/her side as stated on the 1987 constitutions stated that: “ No one shall be deprived with out due process of law”. There will be 3 days investigation and 1 day deliberation, 1 day presentation of facts and evidence and final decision. Warning and suspension will be imposed depending on the offense/s committed by a Board of Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members. The following are the verdicts and sentence:
.
1st offence - Any Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members will be
given official warning

2ND - Any Directors, Chairmen, Clan founders, Clan officers and members will be
suspended for three (3) months

3rd – Any Directors and Chairmen will be subject for dis-member

3rd - Any Clan founders and Clan officers and members will be suspended for Six (6) months

4th - Any Members commits the offence for 4 times will be subject for dismember

4th – Any Clan founders and Clan officers commits the offence for 4 times the signed peace covenant and signed organization’s membership/partnership pledge form will be revoke and subject automatically for dismember.

This is to inform that KALINAW MINDANAO MOVEMENT, INC. - CHILDREN, YOUTH AND CITIZEN FOR PEACE ACTION has two official activities for 2009. First, is the Public exposure at Brgy. Cugman, Malasag Cagayan de Oro City - during the lent season, April 9-10,2009. The main objectives of this activity are to join the whole Christian nations in celebration with Holy week and be able to recognize and acknowledge some members who are not familiar yet (bonding day). The Second activity is the Mindanao Week of Peace that will fall on last Thursday of November until first Wednesday of December (seven days activities) this activity is organized annually thru Bishop and Ullamah conference of the Philippines, Local Government Units, Religious sectors and Non-Government organization. The main objectives of this activity are to promote the culture of peace among Mindanao people and to widen the peace awareness among public.

All activities stated above have allocated budget donations from BDPF and K-Mindanao Circles of Clans funds. If there’s any case/s that stated above activities will not be materialized for some reasons, the Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility thru the leadership of Mr. Renie Paja may divert the fund to other activates which are in lines to K-Mindanao advocacies such as Peace workshop and feeding program. Any activities which are not mentioned above, considered as un-official and secondary activities.

I would like to request every BOD, Chairman’s and members to please pray to those affected families from the devastating effect of flash flood and who dies especially in Cagayan de Oro City and the rest of Misamis Oriental. The WVDFI relief operation will be held at Cagayan de Oro, Alubijid and Jasa-an Misamis Oriental. Since these areas were greatly damage and affected from the flash flood. The WVDFI needed at least 20 male volunteer in order to join the relief operation force. Likewise request to please submit your self as long as your time and presence is available.

The fundamental concepts of the organization are taken from the Christian, Islam, Buddhist and Indigenous belief (referred to Lumads ) principles. Since the Organization is strictly non-sectarian, we do not engage with conversion of faith and religion.

Please be advice to read and understand carefully every terms and definitions that our organizations used, as of May 8, 2008 the following are the official terms and definitions used by the organization (KMMI).

Memorandum Circular – refers to the directives, orders and instructions from the Office of the President of Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., with secretariat clearance (a signature from the Office of the Secretary of Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc.)The Memorandum Circular must be photocopied so that all Board of Directors can read and/or given a copy for their documentations.

Unofficial Memorandum Circular – refers to the directives, orders and instructions from the Office of the President of Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., with out secretariat clearance. Since, there is no secretariat clearance; the office will post the UMC thru its website, friendster or members email. UMC is an emergency memorandum intended only for World Wide Web members and volunteers, in particular at Friendster site and K-Mindanao blogspot.

Mobile Outreach Program - refers to field activities of K-Mindanao, intended for the youth, members and non-member of the organization in different area. The Board of Director / officers may use this program provided the approval of the President of Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., this program focuses but not limited to leadership seminars and training, K-Mindanao orientation, government affairs, merge affiliation, networking, partnership, feeding programs and other activities.

Secretariat Outpost - refers to a volume of members/volunteers in particular area, automatically the direct beneficiaries of K-Mindanao projects.Also, it refers to a house or office of a volunteers/members/officers/Board of Directors that want to be a Unit head of their Barangay or Zone. wherein pertinent documents and form of the organization will be given to them (unit heads) such as the SEC Permit, ID’s, copy of the Memorandum circular, schedule of the activities and Membership forms.

K-Mindanao Circle of Clans- refers to a group of youth organizations, clans and youth coalitions under Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., Youth For Peace Action. They engage the same activities and directives from the KMMI as mother organization. Each K-Mindanao circle of clan has different officers.

KMMI FUND – Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., is a non-profit organization. Since, KMMI is a non-profit organization basically KMMI do not engage in any business activities intended for individual/personal interest. KMMI funds refers to the solicited cash donations from different institutions both private, public, company and individuals. Also, fund raising activities, that all processed will be donated to Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., account at Banco de Oro –CogonKMMI fund can be withdrawn anytime provided with the corresponding resolutions duly signed by the Board of Directors al least 51% if its member. (Refer to Article XI, Section 1.)

Fund Rising – refers to activities to raised fund “for and intended to” the organization. The profits from these activities will be donated to Kalinaw Mindanao Movement Inc., account at Banco de Oro –Cogon.

Board of Directors Personal Fund (BDPF) – refers to the personal money of every Board of Directors, money from their own pocket. This fund is intended to help the member of KMMI. The Board of directors is not obliged to cash out any amount from their pocket.The following are different funds used under BDPF:

Hatag Kalinaw 2008 is a youth-led project grant competition for school and community-based youth organizations in Mindanao on how the ideals of peace can be achieved through mutual understanding and entrepreneurship. Winning organizations will receive up to Php 100,000 each to implement its project within a 6-month period. Hatag Kalinaw is derived from two Bisayan words- hatag and kalinaw. Hatag means to impart, give, share, grant and kalinaw which means peace.

The project embodies British Council Philippines’ aspiration to trickle down its peace-building efforts to the people of Mindanao by supporting local youth organizations translate their plans into more tangible results.Hatag Kalinaw aims to capacitate youth organizations in Mindanao to implement youth-led projects in their local communities through a project grant competition•To encourage the participation of young people in promoting the culture of peace as proactive citizens and peace partners

•To create a sustainable community of young people in which they can share their experience of implementing community-based projects addressing issues/concerns on mutual respect and understanding and the ideals of peace and development amongst young people in Mindanao through entrepreneurship

•To establish a functional network of youth organizations that will work strategically with British Council Philippines on its peace and development initiatives and complement other stakeholders’ peace-building works.
